I always used to put a big emphasis on camping gear. But I've found that, over the years the less concerned I am about having the right the camping gear. In fact, as I've gotten older, my mind has moved away from the gear and more on the experience itself. In some ways, maybe this is just maturity. But, it is more and more just about getting away. It is just being out in the woods, and not as much about what I bring with me You're probably saying, no kidding. But the camping gear is cool, so it's easy to sucked into this and that and all the trips to the store. Just get out there. Enjoy it.
